Vehicle & Equipment Reports
What is considered idling?
The vehicle is considered idle when the engine is running and the vehicle has been in the same location for more than a designated number of minutes.
An idling alert occurs when the threshold you have specified in the ‘Setup’ > ‘Alert Settings’ has been exceeded.
How do I determine the length of time before I receive an idling alert?
To set the length of time a vehicle must idle in the same position before it triggers an alert:
- Choose ‘Alerts’ or ‘Setup’ from the top toolbar and choose ‘Alert Settings.’
- Under Alert Settings, set the Idle Threshold to the desired number of minutes before an alert is triggered.
Where do I find my vehicle driving activity?
An overview of your vehicle driving activity can be seen on the Fleet Activity Dashboard.
- Click ‘Reports’ at the top of your screen. The default view is the Activity Dashboard (or you can click on it on the left side menu).
- Use the dropdown options to select a date range for data, or to select a specific vehicle or driver.
The following information is available in your dashboard:
- Miles
- Here you will see a snapshot of your miles driven and total drive time of all vehicles in a selected time period. You will also be able to see a breakdown of authorized and unauthorized mileage.
- Safety
- The dashboard provides an average of the driver safety score for all of your vehicles for the selected time period. You can also find the average safety record for individual drivers in the same period.
- Stops
- Stop activity includes total stop time and average stop duration, as well as stop details for each driver. A stop is triggered when a vehicle’s ignition is off and the vehicle hasn’t moved in at least 3 minutes.
- Idling
- The idling dashboard includes average idle duration and total idle alerts, as well as insight into each driver’s idling activity. An idle event is triggered when your vehicle ignition is on and has remained stationary beyond the set idling threshold.
- Fuel Usage
- This dashboard shows fuel purchases and unauthorized purchase alerts, but requires Fuel Card Integration.
How do I see where my vehicle has been?
To see where your vehicles have been during the day, you can view the Trips Report. A trip starts when your vehicle’s ignition is turned on and ends when the ignition is turned off.
Trips can be split in two if they are still in progress when authorized hours for the day end, or if it continues into a second day (after midnight).
To see details on your vehicles trips, you can choose the Advanced Trips Report:
- Click ‘Reports’ in the top toolbar. Click ‘Advanced Trips’ on the left menu.
- Use the dropdown options to select a date range for data, or to select a specific vehicle, group, or driver. Click ‘Show Activity.’

You can also view a more condensed Trips Report:

What is the difference between Engine Hours and Usage Hours?
Usage hours are both the time the engine was running (power on the white wire) and any motion periods where the engine was not running.
Engine hours are strictly the amount of time there was power on the white wire (Ignition On to Ignition Off).
